Looking to meet other moms in the area?
Sorry if the title sounds too much like a personals ad! As a mom with a young child, I know it can sometimes be tough to connect with other women who are going through the same thing as you, for friendship and discussion. There's a new organization starting up in the area called Mothers & More that offers playgroups, moms' nights out, family events, and more. Events and activities are held mornings, afternoons, and evenings to accommodate the schedules of both stay-at-home moms and full- or part-time working moms. If you'd like to know more, please come to our first meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, November 6 at the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library. hi my name is jen, and i have a 18 mo old & a 4 yr old, plus work a full time job, my question is this.....is this a mothers group for working moms too? i would love to find a group who meets on the weekends and the evenings, it seems everyone meets in the day and thats hard. i really want my kids and myself to have something to do with other kids and adults, please get back to me at ur convience ajkkrug0425@yahoo****

Hi Stephanie, Heather, and BDouglas -- if you'd like to meet some other moms in the area, please feel free to join some of the moms from Mothers & More at our next playdate on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 6pm at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Altoona (1401 12th Ave. in downtown). Hi. I'm a single parent new to the area with a 9yo son. I do work full time and am looking for suggestions on 1/. how to fill the gap between school being out and work being done (would prefer he not be a latchkey kid) and 2/. suggestions on what do do when i occasionally travel for work (2-3 days). I'm in Altoona. My son will join me starting the next Fall school year. Thanks to all in advance

Hi Stephanie! Mothers and More of Central PA offers you a great opportunity to meet other moms in the area and give you and your son a "social life" as you mentioned! As PSUAlum wrote, we offer playgroups for you and your son as well as crafts, cooking groups, storytimes, field trips, and more! For you, we offer moms nights out, discussion groups, cooking groups, a short story group, and more! There are also family events as well. Hi. My name is Stephanie and I was hoping you were still looking to meet moms in the area. I have a 2 year old son and trust me i dont have a social life for me or him. So for the start of the new year i really wanted to change that so if you are still looking to meet moms let me know.
