CREATE A NEW TOPICSlippery socks!
This is Kelly. I was at a restaurant last night and met another new mom who had her 6-month-old son with her. Upon seeing my daughter's bare feet she turned to her husband and said, "SEE! NO SOCKS!" Then she turned back to me and said, "He always tells me to put socks on, but they just fall off. I've given up." Clearly noticing I had give up too, we both shared a laugh. But now that fall is quickly approaching, I'm sure I'll be changing my tune. Does anyone know of a brand of socks that stand up to tiny feet on the move all the time? Or have any other solutions short of duct tape?

This probably sounds crazy... I have started wearing larger socks on my 10 month old. I make sure they are plain white.. so it is not noticable. They are actually the size my three year old wears.. but they go to Taylins knee. Difficult for her to get off and when I am holding her and her pants start riding up.. no bare legs sticking out. Works for me! Just watch you are not wearing tight shoes.. The extra fabric around the toes might bother little feet!

I have found that the thicker socks do not stay on my 3 month old daughter but there is a thinner kind that seem to stay on -- they are a bit more snug around the ankle, perhaps that's why. They are from Target and came in a 3 or 6 pack. They are thinner, but they stay on all day! I THINK it's the Just One Year brand? I'm not sure but I can check!

Kelly, Hello, might I suggest baby old navy or the wal-mart socks. My son is starting to walk and he loves to pull his socks off but that is what I use on him. But yes there are days where I want to pull my hair out because we leave with two socks and by the time we get to where we are going we have none. Good Luck. Also Baby Old Navy have wonderful fleece slippers for babies also. My son has a pair and they are great for this cold weather.

I'm not sure how much they'd help with holding the socks, but do you know about Baby Legs? They're like a leg warmer for babies, made from knee high socks, are pretty cool! You can make them yourself, or buy a pair to see if they solve the sock problem. Google Baby Legs, you'll find everything from commercial sales sites, to DIY instrucsions. On a personal note- I hate wearing socks too!

The only thing you can do for a small foot is to buy Robeez ****robeez****/EN-US/default.htm or the knock off version of them (available at the Altoona Target). I put socks on, then the Robeez. No matter how hard my kids pulled, those things stayed on. We only used them for going out of the house. My kids are too old for them now, but we had alot of those shoes.
