Have you ever thought what it would be like to be a kid again, even if just for one day?
What would you do? Would you try and work harder in school so you could get a better job or would you treat your parents any different?
I thought it would be fun to ask some of my colleagues and friends what they would do if they could be a kid again for just one day.
The answers that I got were extremely interesting and enjoyable to listen to. This exercise gave me an opportunity to learn a little more about my friends and their personalities.
Here are a few of the responses.
n Sleeping in and playing with my GI Joes.
n I would spend the day with my father doing anything he wanted to do.
n I would go back to a summer day when we ran all over the neighborhood.
n Spend the morning watching Saturday morning cartoons and eating Trix cereal.
n I would attend game seven of the 1960 World Series.
n I would wear my cape again.
When I think back to what I would do the answer is simple, I would be outside playing, riding my bike, and probably sometime throughout the day I would have my Star Wars figures spread out all over the house doing battle.
At the end of the day just before bed I would tell my parent's thank you for everything that they have done for me and that I love them.
I think this is a fun exercise that we should all do every once and while to just stop and think back to how life was so much simpler when we were young. We did not have the worries and responsibilities that we all have as adults in our daily life.
The next time you are facing a challenge or are put into an extremely stressful situation, think back to this question. What would the 7-year-old in you do?
I am sure the answer would be quite different and that could be a very good thing.
