What are you doing right now? Did you vote? If not, go out and do so! No matter your circumstances, there's no excuse not to vote. Sometime today, you have 15 minutes. And, really it doesn't take even that long. Every year I voted in Altoona, I took along one or both of my kids. The volunteers at the polls are more than helpful, and they'll give you a hand with your kids if you need it. We used to vote at the Greek Orthodox Church on 58th Street, and the volunteers were completely understanding about rambunctious little kids. The kids were even given candy on the way out. So, get out there and vote. Don't use your kids as an excuse. Besides, what better way to spend Election Day than to take your kids along. Teach them the process and tell them how important it is to have your say. The vote for president is unbelievably important, but don't discount all the state and local races. These public officials will make decisions that will affect you and your families directly. Pay attention. Vote. Believe me. You count!
