| | Park of the Day: Memorial ParkJune 23, 2012 - Jen ZboznyIf I had to choose, I'd say Memorial Park in Duncansville is my favorite park in the area. To get there, take 22 through Duncansville and turn onto 11th Street. Take 11th to 8th Avenue. You'll see the play structure on your right and parking is beyond the small pavilion. Why is it my favorite? In my opinion this park has something for everyone. It has a fine play structure with enough climbing and sliding features to satisfy young and older children alike. It has a pavilion, water fountain, and restrooms (which are sometimes locked, just fyi) and the best feature, a STREAM! It's low and not very wide and the current is completely manageable for you and your little ones to wade in or help them walk across. There are also two bridges crossing the stream, but it's more fun to wade into the stream on your own. It's a great place to catch crawfish or just enjoy the outdoors! We recommend you take buckets and shovels and wear shoes/clothes that can get wet. We also recommend you walk the path along the stream. The trees are labeled so you can learn about the foliage. We hope to see you there sometime! Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
