| | Happy New Year!January 1, 2012 - Kristy MacKabenTo say our New Year's Eve was low-key is an understatement. The highlight of our night was scratching lottery tickets and playing the dice game "Farkle"...though rocking out to Four Non-Blondes on karaoke and playing "Just Dance 3" was pretty fun, I admit. It was just the four of us and Scott's mom, so we had planned on a pretty tame New Years, but Julie and Johnny were really excited for the party and the countdown to midnight (or 8 p.m. in reality). The night took a turn for the worse, however, when Julie spiked a fever of 103 and had stomach troubles. So, I spent most of New Years Eve cleaning up puke, and calming my two crying kids. (Every time Julie would get sick, Johnny would wake up and start screaming.) Luckily, when you have little kids, they don't quite grasp the concept of time, so we were allowed a New Years Eve do-over. Julie felt a lot better today, so we broke out the party hats, streamers and horns tonight, and counted down (to 7:30) tonight, and screamed Happy New Year! When you have kids, not everything goes as planned, but that's ok. Happy New Year everyone!! Article Comments(2)My1CentJan-04-12 8:12 PM Oh gosh, you had a run in with the stomach flu too!
