| | Starting their new livesJune 6, 2011 - Margaret MosesOur graduation reporting is pretty impressive. We cover the graduation ceremonies of 15 high schools across the region, telling the stories of the students and making a nice cut-out-and-keep remembrance of the day for the graduates and their families. Today's on A1 is of Claysburg-Kimmel, which had 62 graduates. See Greg Bock's story and photo. There's a great letter to the editor on A4 today from Staff Sgt. Matthew Heist, who is thanking students from Allegheny No. 1 Elementary School for the care packages he received while serving in Afghanistan. He is a class act, and so are the students who remembered him and other service members. Tomorrow's a 2-for Tuesday at the Curve. See the ad on B2 -- buy one, get one on tickets, hot dogs and small popcorn! Wow, that's some photo on C1 of a little kid falling off a sheep in a sheep-riding contest in Montana! There are some good tips in the story on C2 about what every new graduate needs. If you have a new graduate, or are one yourself, make sure to read it. Speaking of graduates, if you want to recognize your graduate in the 2011 Graduation Section, the clock is ticking. There's an ad on C3 with the details; deadline is June 17. I like the Parent to Parent column today on D1 on frugal birthday parties for kids. You don't need bounce houses or expensive entertainment to make a memorable party for your child. I think the best parties I had for my boys were inexpensive ones at home that took some time to plan -- there was a Ghostbusters party that stands out in memory -- but were loads of fun for them and their friends. Dancers from Andrea's School of Dance will be presenting a recital this weekend. See the story on D2 about who will be featured. There's quite a list..
