Black, White and Read All Over

No excuses not to read

Good news for Roaring Spring residents -- your library is reopening today! The Roaring Spring Community Library sustained a lot of damage in January when pipes burst and has been closed since then. In the interim, they did a lot of renovation work. The children's room looks very inviting for kids. Check out Wendy McCardle's story and photo on A1 today.

You gotta applaud the entrepreneurial skills of the boys in Ashville who are operating a Snack Shack along Route 26. See Patrick Waksmunski's photo on A2. It appears that they're trying to make money to go to the beach, according to the sign on their stand.

There's a brief on A5 about an upcoming bicycle rodeo being held July 11 by the Eldorado Kiwanis. Kids can get their bikes checked out for safety and learn some safety tips. Also, if those under age 12 don't have helmets, they can get a free one. That's a really  nice project by the Kiwanis.

I've got to get to Kopp Drug (ad on page A7) for their Aquafina bottled water sale -- two 24 packs for $7. Those bottles are great to tuck in lunch boxes.

The Meadows Family Fun Center wants you to pack up the family and come out for its annual pajama party (see the ad on D6) starting at 11 p.m. Friday. They've got deals on cones, sundaes, banana splits and mini golf.  You can even wear your PJs!
